This original linocut print, one of a series showing historic monuments in their landscape, features Wayland's Smithy, a neolithic tomb on the Ridgeway near the famous White Horse of Uffington.

The print depicts Wayland's Smithy in late autumn, when the leaves have fallen from the trees and the monument exudes an exceptionally magical atmosphere surrounded by its grove of trees and hedges.

This print uses two of the plates employed in the five-colour editions of the same print to create a simple but evocative image of the these stunningly magical remains.

It is hand printed on 250 gsm Somerset Velvet Paper on a 19th Century Albion Press in 2 colours and signed and edition by the artist. Printed area: 12" x 9"; paper size approx twice as much again.

One of variable edition of 4.
