An original linocut print based on Dolbadarn Castle in North Wales. Here, printmaker Michael Smith transforms the castle into an icy fortress, set within its formidable stronghold - the mountainous lair of Eryri or Snowdonia.

This linocut print places an imaginary fortress, based on Dolbadarn, in an icy setting among the rocks and stones of Snowdonia. By overprinting a second layer of grey, the print is suggestive of the entire landscape being encased in a grip of ice.

One of variable edition of 5, hand printed on a Victorian Albion Press in Cambridgeshire, UK. Signed and editioned by the artist and printed on 250 gsm Somerset Velvet Paper. The printed part of the image measures approximately 6 x 6 inches (15 x 15cm).
