Michael Smith is a translator and illustrator of Middle English romances and texts. His books include translations of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the Alliterative Morte Arthure, and William of Palerne. His illustrative work represents a response to medieval texts through the medium of printmaking. A speaker and historical performer, his interests also include the history of landscape and our role within it.
